Diese Arbeit untersucht die funktionalen Äquivalente der Partikeln der deutschen Lautsprache innerhalb der Deutschen Gebärdensprache. Die Autorin analysiert, wie nonverbale Komponenten, insbesondere Gesichtsausdruck und Mundbilder, als äquivalente Ausdrucksmittel zu den Abtönungspartikeln der Lautsprache fungieren. Dabei werden theoretische Grundlagen der Linguistik, der Gestalttheorie und der Gebärdensprachforschung herangezogen, um zu verdeutlichen, wie Kommunikation als komplexes interaktionales Zeichenmodell über verschiedene Modalitäten hinweg funktioniert. Das Ziel ist es, die strukturellen Unterschiede zwischen der auditiv-phonologischen und der visuell-motorischen Ebene zu überbrücken und funktionale Entsprechungen aufzuzeigen.
