Secrets in Inequalities
You are now keeping in your hands this new book of elementary inequalities. "Yet another book of inequalities?" We hear you asking, and you may be right. Complex Variables
The main purpose of this second edition is essentially the same as the first edition with changes noted below. Accordingly, first we quote from the preface by Murray R. Spiegel in the first edition of this text. “The theory of functions of a complex variable, also called for brevity complex variables or complex analysis, is one of the beautiful as well as useful branches of mathematics. Although originating in an atmosphere of mystery, suspicion and distrust, as evidenced by the terms imaginary and complex present in the literature, it was finally placed on a sound foundation in the 19th century through the efforts of Cauchy, Riemann, Weierstrass, Gauss, and other great mathematicians.” “This book is designed for use as a supplement to all current standards texts or as a textbook for a formal course in complex variable theory and applications. It should also be of considerable value to those taking courses in mathematics, physics, aerodynamics, elasticity, and many other fields of science and engineering.” “Each chapter begins with a clear statement of pertinent definitions, principles and theorems together with illustrative and other descriptive material. This is followed by graded sets of solved and supplementary problems. ... Numerous proofs of theorems and derivations of formulas are included among the solved problems. The large number of supplementary problems with answers serve as complete review of the material of each chapter.”

Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics
This book is designed primarily to supplement standard textbooks in fluid mechanics and hydraulics. It is based on the authors' conviction that clarification and understanding of the basic principles of any branch of mechanics can be accomplished best by means of numerous illustrative problems. Previous editions of this book have been very favorably received. This third edition contains two new chapters—one on fluid statics, the other on flow of compressible fluids. Additionally, many chapters have been revised and expanded to keep pace with the most recent concepts, methods, and terminology. Another very important feature of this new edition is the use of the International System of Units (SI). Precisely half of all problems that involve units of measure utilize SI units, the other half employing the British Engineering System.

Topology of Metric Spaces
The aim is to give a very streamlined development of a course in metric space topology emphasizing only the most useful concepts, concrete spaces and geometric ideas. To encourage the geometric thinking, I have chosen large number of examples which allow us to draw pictures and develop our intuition and draw conclusions, generate ideas for proofs. To this end, the book boasts of a lot of pictures. A secondary aim is to treat this as a preparatory ground for a general topology course and arm the reader with a repertory of examples. To achieve this, I have adopted the following strategy. Whenever a definition makes sense in an arbitrary topological space or whenever a result is true in an arbitrarytopological space, I use the convention ... (metric) space .... This is to tell the reader the sentence makes mathematical sense in any topological space and if the reader wishes, he may assume that the space is a metric space. See, for example, Def. 4.1.3, Ex. 4.4.12, Def. 5.1.1 and Theorem 5.1.31. On few occasions, I have also shown that if we want to extend the result from metric spaces to topological spaces, what kind of extra conditions need to be imposed on the topological space. These instances may give the students an idea of why various special types of topological spaces are introduced and studied. A third aim is to use this course as a surrogate for real analysis to reinforce some of the concepts from basic analysis while dealing with examples such as functions spaces. This also helps the students to gain some perspective of modern analysis.
